چکیده

Anaphalis margaritacea, Gnaphalium chilense and G. microecephalum have been analyzed for flavonoid aglycones deposited externally on aerial parts. Anaphalis was found to produce, am ong others, several rare flavonoids, all o f which are O -substituted in position 6 and mostly also in position 8. Both Gnaphalium species exhibit 3,5-dihydroxy-6,7,8-trim ethoxyflavone as the m ajor exudate flavonoid.

New Phenolics from Baccharis Leaf Exudate

A previous study on the leaf resin composition of some Baccharis species revealed that the resinous material consists mostly of terpenoids, in which more or less lipophilic flavonoid aglycones are dissolved [1]. In B. salicifolia, a major terpenoid was found to be the rare triterpene maniladiol [2]. The major flavonoids were penduletin (6 -hydroxykaempferol3,6 ,7-trimethyl ether) and pinocembri...

Unusual Flavanones from a Rare American Fern

Notholaena fendleri, Polypodiaceae, Farinose Exudate, Novel Flavanone Notholaena fendleri is a rare representative of the genus, growing mainly in Colorado/USA. The white farinose exudate on the lower surface of its pinnules is composed partly of waxy material and partly of flavonoid aglycones. The flavonoid moiety consists mainly of methyl derivatives of the flavanones naringenin and eriodicty...

On the occurrence of exudate flavonoids in the borage family (Boraginaceae).

Externally accumulated flavonoid aglycones have been found for the first time in Nonea species. They exhibit only flavones, one of them being the rare tricetin-4'-methyl ether. Within the subfamily Boraginoideae, exudate flavonoids appear to be a rare character.

Chemodiversity of exudate flavonoids in Cassinia and Ozothamnus (Asteraceae, Gnaphalieae).

The lipophilic exudates deposited on aerial parts of four species of Cassinia and twelve species of Ozothamnus (Asteraceae, Gnaphalieae) have been analyzed for the presence of flavonoid aglycones and some other phenolics. A total of 55 flavonoids were identified, including several rare flavonols. Flavonols are prevailing over flavones, and 8-O-substitution is dominant in both groups. Ozothamnus...

Surface flavonoids of Centaurea stenolepis and the local endemics Centaurea davidovii and C. parilica (Asteraceae, sect. Lepteranthus) from Bulgaria

The species of Asteraceae have been found to be a rich source of externally accumulated flavonoid aglycones. This type of compounds attracts the attention, besides for their importance as chemotaxonomic markers, also for their ecological role. In the present study, two local endemic species, Centaurea davidovii and C. parilica, and one widespread species from the same group, C. stenolepis, are ...
